Silk and Folklore in Soufli
The Municipal Folklore Museum of Soufli is housed in the Brikas Mansion since 1991 when the family donated the building to the Municipality of Soufli. The mansion was built in 1890 for the wealthy family of Thrace Brikas. The family lived in the three-story building while in appropriately designed rooms they were active in silkworm breeding.
In the museum's premises, furniture, tools, utensils, costumes, jewelry, musical instruments as well as silk handicrafts and woven items from the "Chrysalis" Silk Weaving Friends Association are exhibited. With the help of the rich photographic archive, the visitor can travel through time and get to know various aspects of the city.
