A jewel in Xanthi, the Karadimoglou residence
The residence was built in 1925 as the house of Fokion Karadimoglou, a tobacco merchant. In the mid-19th c. the ‘Apollo’ theatre was at the same spot, but was destroyed by fire, so the two-story Karadimoglou residence was built. Among its
special features are the decorative corbels and the polygonal small towers. After a short period of being used as a gallery, it now houses the Political Affairs Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
