The Byzantine aqueduct in Feres
At the entrance of Feres the visitor sees the remains of the aqueduct of the Byzantine city. It dates back to the 12th century and was built by Isaakios Komnenos.
It consists of two arches that reach a height of 5m. The aqueduct is made of carved flintstone and bricks. The arches bridged a gap of 7 m above the ancient river Samia and transported water from the springs to the present site Megali Vrysi or Kotza Cesme.
