A folklore museum and cultural events in Tarsanas of Thassos
Tarsanas is a two-story stone building in Skala Potamias in Thassos. It was built in the 19th century and served as the residence of the Mount Athos monks. According to another source, it was a fishing haven for the monks and so it was named Tarsanas, which indicates an installation for the storage or repair of small boats.
Nowadays, it houses a folklore museum, while it is the venue of cultural events and happenings which are organized in Thassos.
