The windmills of Evros

In the small settlement of Melia, four of the six windmills that originally existed are preserved. It is not known when they were built but it is certain that they were in operation until 1925 when the population exchanges took place in the area. With the restoration carried out in 2000, and despite the passage of time, the four windmills have been preserved in good condition. They are an attraction in the area and blend harmoniously with the landscape.
