The river-god Strymon (?) reclining and holding ears of corn and a a sceptre of reed

On the reverse of a bronze coin dated to the time of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD), the river-god Strymon is possibly depicted reclining to the left. He is bearded and semi naked, only a himation covers his lower body and his left hand. He holds ears of corn in his right hand and a sceptre of reed in his left hand. He rests his left hand on a hydria with running water. One can read the inscription ΠΑVΤΑΛΙΑϹ ΟΥΛΠΙΑϹ; it is the official name of the city (Ulpia Pautalia). On the obverse there is the bust of the emperor Marcus Aurelius.
