Human activity in the Atspas cave
Atspas cave is located to the South of the settlement of Skala Maries. The cave has not been fully explored but it is interesting both for its morphology and for the traces of habitation. In addition to the two large chambers formed on the first level, there are corridors and passages leading to other cavities on a lower level. In the cave there are dry stone walls with a height of up to 3 m. But also surface finds of human activity (bones, potsherds and other clay and stone objects) that date the use of the cave in the Late Neolithic (4800-4500 BC) and the Early Bronze Age (3200-2000 BC).
