Thracian women fill their hydriai from the fountain

  • thumb_img

Three Thracian women are depicted next to a fountain. The woman on the left poses a hydria on a cubic base, probably an altar. The woman in the middle carries a hydria on her head and the third one on the right fills a hydria from the fountain. The fountain has the shape of a rock and is decorated with twigs without leaves. The women have short hair, tattoos on their chins, arms and legs and they wear chiton. Short hair and tattoos indicate that they are slaves of Thracian origin.
