In the interior of this kylix a young Thracian rider is depicted on his horse. He wears chlamys, petasos on his head and the Thracian military costume: zeira (a woolen coat) richly decorated and endromides (soft boots). He holds two spears in his right hand and pulls the horse’s reins.
In the exterior of the kylix there is a scene depicting the departure of warriors. A woman, a hoplite, an old man and a Thracian rider are depicted on the one side of the vessel, whereas a hoplite, a woman and a Thracian rider are on the other. The Thracian riders can be distinguished because of their Thracian military costumes: zeira, endromides and alopeke (fox fur cap). Both hold two spears. On the contrary hoplites and women have Greek outfit; chiton, chlamys, helmet, circular shield and spear for the hoplites, and himation, chiton and/or sphendone (a kind of headband) for the women.
