A Thracian warrior on horseback and a second who runs on foot are ready to attack to the right. Both are youths and wear the Thracian military costume: zeira (woolen coat) with heavy embattled designs fastened on chest, short chiton, endromides (high leather boots) and alopeke (fox fur cap). They hold spears in their right hand. The foremost holds pelte (a crescent-shaped shield of wicker-work, indicated on the inside by crossed diagonals in brown) in his left hand. Between them hangs probably a bucranion (skull of an ox) covered with a festooned taenia.
