Pern (lat. Pernis apivorus), also known as common pern or European pern, is a migrant bird of prey that resembles the common buzzard. It is widespread in many areas of Greece. It prefers open woodlands and feeds on insects, amphibians, reptiles, small rodents, eggs, and also chicks of other birds.
