Hazel grouse

The hazel grouse (lat. Binasa bonasia or Tetrastes bonasia), sometimes called hazel hen, is a small-sized species of grouse that lives in mixed forests with deciduous trees and conifers, preferably in areas with low vegetation. The species is widespread in northern Europe, but it is relatively sparse in the south. In Greece, it is mainly found on Rodopi.
