To the left of the scene there is a woman called Krateia (strength) who embraces Mitos (the warp thread, symbolizing the seed according to Orphic poems). Next to them is depicted their child Pratolaos (the first man). To the right, a naked boy called Pais is Kabeiros’ wine-pourer. He is filling with wine an oinochoe from a calyx-krater. The god Kabeiros is depicted lying in a kline (bed) and holding a kantharos in his right hand. He is semi-naked, only a himation covers his lower body, and wears a diadema with ivy leaves on his head. The figure of a Satyr is depicted on a small sherd from the same vase. All the figures in the scene are identified thanks to written inscriptions (dipinti).
