On the reverse of this stephanophoric silver tetradrachm two Kabeiroi standing are depicted within a laurel wreath. They are nude, only a cloak is tied around their necks. They wear a laurel wreath on their heads and hold a spear. A star, the symbol of Kabeiroi, is above each figure. There is also an inscription: ΘEΩN KABEIPΩN and ΣYPIΩN. There is a monogram in lower right as the signature οf the officer in charge of minting. On the obverse, the goddess Demeter is depicted wearing a wreath of grain ears.
This issue had long been attributed to the island of Syros. However, has convincingly shown that it was issued by a mint in the sphere of the kingdom of Pergamon and the Attalids kings and therefore the inscription names the Divine Syrian Kaberioi.
