Manna ash (lat. Fraxinus ornus) is a small deciduous tree, very common in shrubs that cover the low slopes of the mountains throughout Greece. It is native to all of the Mediterranean and Eastern European countries. In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, it grows in the areas of Echinos, Galani, Avantas, Metaxades, Mesimvria, in the area of Dadia, but also on the island of Samothrace.
