Willow

Willows, also known as sallows and osiers are plants that are native to Europe and western and central Asia.  The most common species found in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace is the white willow (lat. Salix alba). It is a tree with characteristic narrow leaves and an irregular, often-leaning crown. Willows grow near rivers and prefer watery soils.
