The Egyptian vulture (lat. Neophron percnopterus), also called the white scavenger vulture or pharaoh's chicken is a small-sized vulture. It used to be a widespread and common summer breeding visitor all over the mainland and some islands but, following a continuous strong decline, it is now considered a rare and local species, with a patchy distribution mainly in Thrace, Thessaly and Epirus and scattered individual pairs elsewhere.
