Northern lapwing

The northern lapwing (latin Vanellus vanellus) is a beautiful pigeon-sized wading bird with a wide distribution in Europe, and Asia. Τhe black plume on its head as well as its relatively long and thin legs are its most characteristic features.

From September onwards, the northern lapwing migrates to our country in order to spend the winter in Evros and other areas of northern Greece.
