White-tailed eagle

The white-tailed eagle (lat. Haliaeetus albicilla) also known as the gray sea eagle, Eurasian sea eagle, and ern or erne (depending on spelling by sources), is a bird of prey that is widely distributed across temperate Eurasia. It is the only species of sea eagle found in Greece. Most of the year, white-tailed eagles live near inland wetlands, like freshwater lakes, bogs, and rivers. as well as coastal saltwater areas.

It was considered endangered or extinct in several countries. Today, the population trend appears to be increasing, and hence the species does not approach the thresholds for vulnerable under the population trend criterion.
