Lafri is a lagoon that is located very close to Porto Lagos and Vistonida lake. It is part of the wetland complex formed by the Nestos Delta. It is an important habitat for various species of fauna, for example, ducks, gulls, swallows, kingfishers, various species of pelicans, storks, and birds of prey (i.e., spotted eagles, sea eagles, hawks), as well as owls.
