Settlement of the region of Xanthi. Initially it consisted of two settlements; the one with people from Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor and in the other one with people from Pontos. The two settlements were eventually united.

The church of the village, dedicated to Saints Constantine and Helen, celebrates on the 21st of May. That's why the village was named Magiko (May).
