Village in the region of Xanthi, on the border with the prefecture of Kavala. It is one of “Nestochoria”, which means “Villages of the Nestos river”. In the wider area, there is an impressive Macedonian tomb of the 2nd century BC, and a fortified hill (Kales or Fortress of Komneni) from the era of Philip II of Macedonia.
