Minority village, 16 km away from Komotini. It is divided into four neighborhoods; Orta Mahalas (middle neighborhood), Yukarki Mahalas (outer neighborhood), Karsi Mahalas (opposite neighborhood) and Prinka Mahalas.

On the square, an imam's pedestal is built replacing the minaret. In the village there is also a fortress of the same name in which, in 1941, Germans and Greeks fought, as well as a military museum.
