Karydia 

Village in the region of Rodopi. Its name means "walnut tree". Refugees from Eastern Thrace and Asia Minor settled in the village. The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture. The central church of the settlement, Metamorfosi Sotiros, was built in 1868.
