Ammoglossa (meaning "sand tongue") is a golden beach near Keramoti. It resembles an atoll on a tropical island. The sea with its crystal clear and relatively calm waters is shallow and almost always calm. Visitors can enjoy the facilities offered on a small part of the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. In the pine forest behind the beach, you can watch a lot of migratory birds, such as the little egret. This small pine forest is an ideal place for a picnic.
From the beach, you have spectacular views of the islands of Thassopoula and Thassos.
Access to the beach via Keramoti from the city of Xanthi is relatively easy (by bus), and then, from Keramoti by taxi or on foot.
Explore the shores around Keramoti for swimming and fishing. Among other species, here you will find sand steenbras, white sea bream, annular sea bream and gilt-head bream.
The currents might sometimes bring in some jellyfish.
