The greater spotted eagle (lat. Aquila clanga), also known as the spotted eagle, is a large bird of prey. It is named after the white spots on its wings and back. The spotted eagle is a winter visitor in Greece. It winters in the large wetlands of northern and central Greece with the Evros Delta and the neighboring hills being its most important wintering habitat.
