Τα ερωτευμένα περιστέρια της Αφροδίτης φέρνουν από ακαλλιέργητο λιβάδι λουλουδιαστές γιρλάντες από πλεγμένα ρόδα, ο κύκνος από τον κυκνοφόρο Πάδο έφερε κεχριμπάρι, θραύσμα από τα κλαδιά των ξακουστών αδελφών, και οι ερωδιοί, μετά τον πόλεμο με τους Πυγμαίους, από τον Νείλο μεταφέρουν με το στόμα τους τα πολύτιμα μπουμπούκια της Ερυθράς θάλασσας. Έρχεται και ο μακρόβιος Φοίνικας από τις εσχατιές του Έβρου, φέρνοντας με το γαμψό του πόδι σπάνια μπαχαρικά. Δεν υπήρχε κανένα πουλί και θηρίο που να αρνηθεί να φέρει γαμήλιο δώρο στην άξια λύρα του. Τότε η Καλλιόπη με ζήλο στόλιζε την ξεχωριστή νύφη της με όλα τα πλούτη και τους θησαυρούς του Ελικώνα και επιπλέον με το θάρρος της μητέρας καλεί στον γάμο του γιου της την ίδια την αφέντρα του αστροφόρου Ολύμπου. Η βασίλισσα των θεών δεν την περιφρόνησε είτε για να τιμήσει τη μητέρα είτε παρακινημένη από δικαιολογημένη εύνοια απέναντι στον ευσεβή ποιητή, ο οποίος τόσες φορές με τα τραγούδια του είχε λαμπρύνει τους βωμούς της, ψάλλοντας με τη θελκτική φωνή του τη θεϊκή υπόσταση της Ήρας και ανακαλώντας τις μάχες του βροντερού συζύγου της στις πεδιάδες της Φλέγρας, τη συντριβή των απειλών των Τιτάνων και του Εγκέλαδου. And the long-lived phoenix comes from the extremes of Hebrus, his stiff foot bearing rare spices. There was no bird or beast that would refuse to bring a wedding gift to his worthy lyre. Then Calliope zealously adorned her special bride with all the riches and treasures of Helicon, and moreover with a mother’s boldness invited to her son's wedding the mistress of star-bearing Olympus herself.
